6 cyl Kugelfischer pump

The Kugelfischer fuel injection system, developed in Germany by the company Kugelfischer (founded by Max Kugelfischer in the late 19th century as a bearing manufacturer), became one of the most advanced mechanical fuel injection systems of its time. Originally created in the 1950s and 1960s for motorsport and high-performance applications, it was adopted by manufacturers such as BMW, Peugeot, and Porsche. Unlike carburetors, which relied on air pressure and fuel jets, the Kugelfischer system used a precision-engineered mechanical pump to deliver fuel directly and consistently under pressure, improving throttle response, efficiency, and power.

It was particularly renowned for its use in the BMW 2002tii, 2002 turbo and the Peugeot 504/505 models, as well as in racing cars of the era. Although eventually replaced by more sophisticated electronic fuel injection systems in the 1980s, the Kugelfischer injection remains celebrated among enthusiasts for its mechanical ingenuity and contribution to the performance of classic European cars.

Point85 specialises in the complete rebuilding and restoration of Kugelfischer fuel injection pumps, with a focus on both racing and rally applications.

With years of experience working on these precision mechanical systems, Point85 has the capability to strip down, inspect, and recondition each component to factory specifications, ensuring reliable performance under the demanding conditions of motorsport.

Using high-quality replacement parts, precise calibration equipment, and a deep understanding of the unique requirements for both racing and the harsh environments of rallying, we tailor each rebuild to maximise power delivery, throttle response, and durability.

Whether for classic BMWs, Ford, or other vehicles equipped with Kugelfischer systems, Point85 provides the expertise and attention to detail that drivers and teams can rely on to achieve consistent, competitive results.
